Open or rolling call (on a phased basis) for expressions of interest in knowledge transfer programme to provide information, training and technical advice, guidance and mentoring to bioenergy business development and start-up enterprises, in the wider National Just Transition Fund Midlands Region. This programme will be rolled out on a phased basis. All applications for this assistance will be subject to a review and evaluation by the Irish Bioenergy Association. Whilst every effort will be made to support interested eligible parties, due to resource limitations, it may not be possible to accommodate all expressions of interest. This programme will be delivered in 2023 and 2024.

Whilst this call remains open continually, the closing date for the final phase is Friday the 10th May 2024. Closing dates for subsequent phases will be announced in due course depending on available places.

One of the aims of the Midlands Bioenergy Development Project is to assist with the development of new green energy business, with a focus on farmers, entrepreneurs and start-up SME businesses in the National Just Transition Fund’s wider Midlands region.

The following seminars took place over November and December in 2023, across the whole Midlands region, designated under the Midlands Just Transition Initiative. IrBEA offered free mentoring and information sharing to anyone who was interested in the bioenergy sector which includes the areas of biomethane, biomass, biofuels and wood fuels.
